A native of New Jersey, I realized my passion for woodworking in 1994 in Middle School wood shop. In 1998, I decided this was my calling and enrolled Scotch Plains UCVTS program.
After graduating, I joined a mill cabinet apprenticeship and over 4 years logged 800 hours of training and graduating in 2007.
Since 2000, I have taken on a variety of projects to gain extra experience that included building fireplace mantels, custom closets, kitchen cabinetry, and large commercial projects.
I established Mullens Custom Woodworking in 2018 after I saw a need for custom residential work that went beyond what big box stores could offer.
I have three personal philosophies that I incorporate into my work and home life:
1. You’ll never stop learning. No matter how many years you are working in any field, you can always learn something new.
2. I hold myself to the highest standard of craftsmanship. If you’re going to do something – do it right.
3. Community is everything. Word of mouth is the best way to build trust and relationships – including online communities.
